March is Women’s History Month.  Next week students will read about the Women’s suffrage movement as they read “Women and the Vote.”

Please remind your student that reading logs are due on Wednesday. 5 points will be deducted from the grade for each day that the reading log is late unless the student is absent on the due date Students should have the reading logs in class everyday to show that they have completed reading homework.  Students cannot write just fiction or nonfiction as the genre.

Columbia Fireflies and a Reading Log

We received some great news this morning!
Every student at BHE has an opportunity to win a free ticket to see the new Columbia Fireflies baseball team!

Each student has been given a reading log.  They need to read 20 minutes a day for 8 days.  They must have an adult initial after each 20 minutes.  When they have completed this reading log, they need to bring them back to school and we will turn them into Mrs. Jeffers.

In return they will receive

  •   a ticket to the Columbia Fireflies game on Monday, April 18th (this will be BHE night at the ball field)
  • a voucher for a hot dog dinner while at the game
  • a free ticket to EdVenture Children's Museum!!
The reading logs must be completed and returned to school no later than Tuesday, March 22nd.  We can't wait to see you all at the ball game!
