News from the 4th Grade

Math News
We have been vigorously working in our multiplication and division unit! Some students are already on objective 4!! We will most likely test on unit 3 next Friday, October 7th. Students will be given some practice problems to complete in class before Friday so that they can study. The test will be on multiplication and division. It will also include prime and composite numbers and factors and multiples.
Don’t forget that the homework packet is given the first day of the week and is due no later than Friday. Students can also use ALEKS to practice at home if they would like. They will need to get their username from me before they log in the first time. This is a great computer program that helps to review all math concepts.
Science News
We have finished Lesson 2 of Chapter 2 on weather. This next week we will talk about precipitation and clouds. We will be working on Lesson 3 in Chapter 2 of our Science textbooks and completing an experiment or two.
Language Arts News
Next Week in ELA next week students will read “The Astronaut and the Onion” and focus on character traits and story elements. We will have a quiz on this story later in the week. Students should be able to access the Treasures book online with the same username and password that they use at school.
Social Studies News
Next week in Social Studies we will study Spanish Explorers beginning with Christopher Columbus.
Fourth Grade News
Richland 2 Wants to Hear from YOU!

Picture Packages were sent home today. You may choose to purchase the entire package, a portion of the package, or no pictures at all. They are sold by the sheet. Please look over the pictures and return any unwanted pictures to school. If you choose to purchase all of the package, simply return the envelope with your payment. If you choose to purchase a portion of the pictures, you may send the money in for those pictures and return the unpurchased pictures.
Tuesday, October 4th is BHE night at the Chick-fil-A on Killian Road from 4-8pm. Mention BHE either at the counter or at the drive-in window and BHE gets a portion of the profits that night! Let’s see if we can fill the place up with BHE students and families! Hope to see you there!
Thursday, October 13th is our next early dismissal day. We will be dismissing at 11:30am. Friday, October 14th is also a student holiday. Have a great long weekend!
October 20th is the last day of the nine weeks.
PTO will be having their Family Movie night on Friday, October 21st. More information will be coming home soon.
