Mrs. Shannon Benson is thrilled to be teaching fourth grade this year! She started her teaching career at BHE in 1996 as a fourth grade teacher. She taught for 8 years before becoming a stay at home mom. After being home for a few years, she went to work teaching 4 year old preschool. In February 2015, she started working again at BHE as a Kindergarten assistant and quickly realized she was ready to go back to teaching full time. This is now her 6th year back teaching fourth grade. She is very excited to be teaching with Ms. Bodrick. She is looking forward to a great year with great students.
Mrs. Benson is the mother of four children--Eli (11th grader and football player at Blythewood High School), Katie (8th grader at Blythewood High School), Ginny (7th grader at the Leadership Academy @ Muller), and Laura Lynn (5th grader at BHE). She has been happily married for 18 years and lives in Blythewood. She loves the Blythewood community and has lived here her entire life.
